Bolt compares 100m treble to 'hat-trick' in cricket

Usain Bolt may be the undisputed king of the 100m sprint, the event in which the Jamaican won his third consecutive Olympic gold medal on Sunday, but he is no stranger to the game of cricket. Bolt, who stormed past Justin Gatlin to the finish line to win a third straight gold medal in the event, compared his achievement to picking up a hat-trick in cricket.
Bolt's love towards cricket is well-documented.In fact, his half brother Sadik took up the sport as his career. When enquired whether Bolt would compare his treble of 100m sprint gold to three sixes or a hat-trick, pat came a witty reply from the Jamaican. "Hat-trick, because I am a better bowler than a batsman and hat-trick sounds good," Bolt told Navbharat Times.
In 2014, Bolt even participated in a promotional cricket match sponsored by Puma, featuring Indian cricketers Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh, and fellow countryman Chris Gayle. He even went on to bowl a few overs and got the wicket of Gayle. Later, all participants of the match even ran a 100m sprint as a light gesture.
To win gold medal in a particular event for a third straight Olympics is no trivial feat. Excessive exercise and strict diet are supposed key. So what exactly was Bolt's diet in the build-up to Rio? "To know about that, you will have to wait for my upcoming documentary," Bolt quipped, before admitting: "This time I mostly ate Asian food. Noodles and chicken. Had good rest and was relaxed."
